Bored with those old fashioned tours where you visit monuments and lakes? Well then! Gear up for some action while you take a plunge into the water theme parks or amusement parks of Gods Own Country. You will just get to learn, not all is scared here. It is always possible to have some vile fun at these awesome parks with your family.

Veega Land

It is the land of hair-raising rides where your whole family can have loads of fun while being sure of safety. Spread over 30 acres of landscaped space Veega Land has a mind boggling array of sophisticated rides to thrill you till you can’t take any more!

Be it the thunder splash where you hop on to a log raft and come down at dizzying speed through a tunnel or bullet rides where you get the feel of sliding down at lightning speed from a six storied building or flying boat where you get swung from side to side in the air while on a giant boat, your family’ safety is assured at this water theme park where maintenance checks are done at every half an hour.

While there are over 200 rides in the place, there are some special ones which can be enjoyed with your whole family head on. Cine magic where you get to feel the movie while sitting on hydraulic assisted seats and high power blowers which make you move in sync with the action on screen is one such family fun ride. For those interested in a swim in the sea there is an artificial sea in place where whose waves are as good as the natural ones. The place is located at Pallikkara which is 15 km from city center and can be reached by shuttle bus service which offers rides round the clock.

Dream World

A water theme park which gives the details utmost importance is Dream World. The management cares for complete enjoyment to all riders, especially women and children which has provided separate pools for them called mermaid pool. The place has various facilities to maintain the privacy of women to make them more secure in a crowd.

There are 42 exhilarating rides in the place out of which 24 are water rides each having an element of fun and adventure. The floats, rafts, boats and tubes used in each ride is different from the others giving the rider a unique experience here. Some of the major attractions at Dream World include, an eight feet deep Wave Pool, raft ride called Stormy River which starts from a height of 30 ft, follows a smooth and beautiful zigzag route, and splashes into a wide pool linked with Lazy River, which is a single ring tube. The place can be reached on road from Thrissur town soon. A vast area has been allotted for parking about 500 cars and 100 buses in front of Dream World.

Fantasy Park

Set beside Malampuzha dam, this water theme park has been amusing the adrenaline junkies for decades now. The park which covers an area of 15 km is known to be a complete family entertainer where age is no bar for anything. While children can enjoy rides like baby train ride, water kiddy ride and battery car ride the older members of the family could have fun at the wave pool, water blasters and Malampuzha falls.

While the water addicts can have maximum fun at the place, even those dry and dreamy ones among your family can have quite a bit of fun here. Ranging from roller coasters to para-troopers and pirate boats the place has it all. It also has a planetarium where you can sky gaze and enjoy being an inch close to the stars above. The park is just 10 km away from Palakkad town.

Silver Storm

Get caught in a storm of thrilling rides and go home high on the adrenaline rush. Silver storm, located at Athirapally, just a 19 km drive away from Thrissur town is known from its unique adrenaline pumping rides which include water sports, splash pools and roller coasters. The Flying Dutchman, a flight of 20 planes fixed to a pole which gyrates giving the feel of being right in the middle of a `Pirates of the Caribbean’ movie, is a major attraction of the place. Sky jet, a water jet which is set at a height of 30 ft and running span of 1000 ft, capable of getting the riders to a silly dizzy attracts many.

What would interest you the most about the park is the pace at which it is expanding. The park has already under gone several stages of development by including new rides to thrill and chill the adventure seekers in the past ten years (2000-2010). So a second visit to the place is always welcome for it might very much be an all new experience. There are cabs and buses which will take you to the park from Thrissur town.

Happy Land and Vismaya

Located in the capital city, Thiruvananthapuram, Happy World attracts many tourists. While the city is known for its historical monuments and its relics a visit to the water theme park is a must as one can have enormous fun here without being bothered about the world.

An adventurer would definitely try the most daring rides in the park like the Up Hill Ride which is unique to the park, rocky falls and multi water play system. The uphill ride would surely take your breath away with its ups and downs, tumults and tumbles. The wave pool has high waves are used by experienced swimmers for training. The place can be reached on road as shuttle bus services are plenty.
