Bungee Jumping in Nepal

There are several adventure sports that one can enjoy and one such sport that provides ultimate thrill and a complete adrenaline rush is the activity of bungee jumping. And Nepal is well equipped to satisfy even this requirement. It has a very good and a very safe set-up for people who enjoy bungee jumping.

Bhothe Koshi is considered the most beautiful among the various tourist spots in Nepal. Hence, it was no surprise when the place was considered as an ideal location to set up bungee jumping. It even makes in to the list of the top 10 best places where one should bungee jump from.

The privately owned bungee jumping site can be reached on the way to Arniko highway, which is at a distance of about 3 hours, outwards of Katmandu. The Ultimate Bungee shuttle is just about 12 kms away from the Friendship Bridge and the Tibet Border.

The sport happens to be on the bridge of Bhothe Koshi, which is a steel suspension bridge about 160 meters wide. The bridge was designed by specialists and experts who were brought down from New Zealand and the Swiss design was made keeping in mind the safety of its users. In order to make it very mishap proof it was built with safety factor of 4x. The bridge also has a very good load capacity which is estimated around 4.5 tons. The bridge was built using more than 6000 meters of steel wire. This bridge is also considered to be the longest suspension bridge ever built, so far in Nepal and the main advantage with this bridge is that it connects the two ends of the valley which otherwise took more than 5 hours for the local people just to cross over the gorge.
